Bike Sharing in NYC = YAY

Occasionally when I get up very early and go out into the streets of NYC, I also experience this feeling of having the whole city to myself.
It’s strange but wonderful to experience the city in a different way sometimes.
On Sunday a bunch of us biked to City Island for some seafood and some Coronas. On the way there we took the scenic route (~24 miles) and biked up the westside highway. On the way back we decided to take the shorter route (~19 miles) and biked down Westchester Avenue to 3rd Avenue.
How Gino Reyes crashed
On Monday the 6th of July I was coming down the Manhattan Bridge probably going 15, 20 miles per hour. As we all know the Manhattan Bridge has 2 sets of nasty bumps. I hit the first bump of the second set and my bag flew over my shoulder. Instinctively I took my left hand to catch it and throw it back behind me. Foolishly that left me cross armed and unbalanced. With the second bump inches away I knew this was going to be a nasty fall. I came down fast first onto the handlebar and the brake lever then my shoulder, arm and ankle sliding on the concrete for 2 feet. Luckily I walked away no broken anything but abrasions all over my arms and parts of my leg. Wear a helmet and if you can, try to avoid Chinatown doctors they will not help you. Ride Safe!

From the desk of Gino Reyes, “RAD is the best Bicycle Club that you will ever see and if you have a bike and you love riding it then this is your club. We meet every Sunday and go on semi-organized bicycle related adventures all over the city. No requirements, no prejudging, just us, you and our bikes. See you almost every Sunday.”
